About Warsaw

Located on the Vistula river, Warsaw is is the capital of Poland and its largest city. Warsaw was nearly completely destroyed during WWII and Warsaw's Old Town was rebuild brick-by-brick. The center is now reminiscent of a Mediaeval City loaded with small charming lanes, stately homes, vibrant squares, quiet courtyards with apple trees, and several churches with spires rising up to the sky.

Top attractions in Warsaw include the sumptuous Old Market Square, the Cathedral, the Royal Castle and the Barbakan wall. The charm of the Old Town contrasts with the city centre's 235-meter high Palace of Culture and Science, recent skyscrapers and their panoramic views.

Warsaw is a cultural centre of opera, theatre and all kinds of music (Chopin's birthplace is nearby!). Its many museums exhibit impressive collections of art and history. One can also find here an extensive restaurant, club and entertainment scene.
