Vacation Rental Description

Brig y Don Holiday Apartment provides quality 4-star self-catering accommodation, in a unique position next to a golden sandy beach, on the fringe of a friendly village called Llansteffan. It is attached to an attractive sea front villa dating back to the 1850's. Brig y Don means "crest of the waves", highly appropriate as the beach is only 30 metres away and the high spring tides are known to come even closer! The bedroom and living room windows provide panoramic views of the ever-changing tides, herons, kite-boarders and sailing yachts venturing out to sea. A Norman castle stands on the headland, which has attracted famous artists including Turner and poets including Dylan Thomas in years gone by. A scenic cliff path leads to Scott's Bay and St Anthony's Well, which was on the pilgrim's route to St. Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire long ago.

The accommodation is spacious and welcoming, laid out on three floors and decorated with Welsh crafts, photographic works and soft furnishings to create 'a sense of place.' A well-appointed Moben kitchen and dining area features on the ground floor. Imagine sampling fresh sea bass or sewin from the River Towy, or locally reared salt marsh lamb with a good wine to round off the day. A cloakroom with wash basin, WC and washing machine is found to the rear. The comfortable living room is located on the first floor facing the estuary, with sofa bed and cushions, two reclining leather chairs, digital TV, a DVD player and Broadband point. The bathroom with bathtub, hand shower, hand basin and WC is found to the rear. On the second floor, a spacious bedroom again has estuary views, with a Sealy Posturepedic super king bed (or 2 singles), a hand basin and furnishings. Here, the dormer window gives a bird's eye view of the Towy estuary. The lights of the trains at night following Brunel's railway around St. Ishmael's headland are a sight to be seen.

Key facts:- Strictly non-smoking in the apartment; oil central heating; exclusive use of front garden; safe off-road parking; pet friendly; Friday is changeover day; short breaks offered outside the high season (Fri-Mon and Mon-Fri); check-in time: 15:00, check-out time: 10:30; small charge for Broadband and sofa bed linen; guide price per week: £295-£450; all prices include heating, electricity, bedding and towels and complimentary fresh flowers and Welsh cakes.
