About the Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands are made up of about 50 islands and cays and two main islands, Virgin Gorda and Tortola. Most of the islands are made up of rolling hills, although Anegada is completely flat rising to only a few feet above sea level. The islands offer coastlines of white sand and palm trees - an unspoilt playground for birds like pelicans, booby birds and terns.

The U.S. Virgin Islands form part of the Lesser Antilles Island chain and many are just rocks or islets set in shimmering turquoise waters. The three largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands are: St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John -- each distinguished by their unique personalities.
