Vienna is the capital of Austria and is the largest of the nine states of Austria. Previously the largest German speaking city in the world, Vienna is host to many major developmental organisations such as the United Nations and OPEC – which helps to make Vienna one of the most exciting cultural and economic rich cities to visit.

The city is often called the "city of music" due to its rich musical history as a principal European music centre and the "city of dreams" due its famed psycho-analyst Sigmund Freud. Ranked as the most inhabitable city in the world with its friendly locals and its arty culture, what is a better way to visit Vienna that in a beautiful Vienna Apartment?

Choose a Vienna apartment in the city centre

Once a fortress surrounded by stunning fields, the city centre (innere Stadt) has now been designated a UNESCO heritage site, the walls have been demolished and the centre expanded to include all the surrounding 34 villages into the city. The centre has many beautiful statues and buildings to visit, including the stunning gothic St. Stephens Cathedral built in 1147 and the magnificent Ring Boulevard that circles the centre and is the biggest and most beautiful of its kind, Innere Stadt is a fantastic area to book a holiday apartment.

Landstrasse holiday rentals

Mostly famed for its stunning Belvedere Palace and the beautiful Belvedere gardens which houses two palaces, Landstraße, or “country road”, is an interesting place to live whilst in Vienna. Both of the Belvedere palaces are home to fantastic art galleries with collections of 18th Century Austrian art and in the upper palace 19th -20th Century Austrian paintings, where you can find works of Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele and Oskar Kokoschka. Also home to the expressionist landmark; the Hundertwasserhaus, the Landstraße area is a definite must visit if you decide not to stay in an apartment here!

Wieden apartments for your Vienna vacation

Wieden is a small region of Vienna near the city centre and is the oldest Vorstadt (municipality) of Vienna. The Wieden district of Vienna is home to the most frequently visited tourist spots in Europe: Karlplatz (Charles Square). The square is home to the nearby St. Charles Church which draws in the crowds due to its beautiful and classy architecture and it is also to the captivating Viennese History Museum. Another draw to the Wieden area of Vienna is the large, and exciting, Naschmarkt which offers food from all over the world - which is perfect when staying in a self-catered holiday apartment in the area!
