Bed & Breakfast Description
The 1912 Tudor-style home was designed by Sam McClure and boasts many of the arts and crafts features used by this reknowned architect. We offer 9 rooms with private bathrooms, many of which have original claw-foot tubs as well as showers. There are also 2 suites (also with private baths) furnished with queen-sized beds and additional sleeping available on comfortable pull-out couches No one room is identical and all the rooms offer views of the perennial gardens. There are several lounges (one on each floor) in this downtown Victoria, Canada property.
The smaller sitting room offers a quiet reading area by the fireplace on the main floor, off the main lobby while the larger sunroom on the second floor has a large television, games, books and seating for larger numbers while they enjoy a cup of tea and our homemade baked goods. Wireless internet access is available and there is a computer for guests travelling without their laptops.
About Victoria Downtown
Oak Bay is a seaside village which now is part of Victoria, the capital of British Columbia. Not only can one enjoy Victoria's famous spots such as the Government Buildings, the Museum, Craigdarroch Castle, Beaconsfield park and Butchart Gardens, but one can also walk up to the shops for a spot of High Tea at the Blethering Tea Room, a pint of beer or a glass of wine at the local pub, The Penny Farthing. The Abkhazi Gardens, at the former home of the Princess Peggy and Prince Nicolas Abkhazi is close by the sea and only a stone's throw from the Guest House. Tea and Lunch are available as well as tours of this romantic site.
