This is the place to sit in one of the open-air cafes drinking hot chocolate while watching many of the gondolas float past. There’s an excellent fish market here and from Tuesday through Saturday you are likely to find some of the most colorful and exciting open-air food market shopping experiences in all of Italy. Not only will you enjoy the views of the colourful facades of various palaces lining the Grand Canal but the Rialto Bridge offers excellent boutique shops selling jewelry, linen, Murano glass and other gifts.
