However, if you can pull yourself away from the splendour, this Venice apartment is 1 minute from Rialto Bridge and 5 minutes from Piazza San Marco; it's central to everything.

It's a large and very particular apartment in Venice. It's been totally restored to include not only cutting edge contemporary design but has also used part of the original palazzo including incorporating the wooden beam ceilings.

This Venice apartment comprises of a large and very open living room with sofa, futon bed and a little terrace that looks out onto the main drag to the Rialto Bridge. The large rustic style kitchen is a chefs dream being equipped with all the latest gadgets.

One of the double bedrooms has a large double bed and the other a double futon mattress and the drawing room has a additional terrace and large window.

There's also an open study and the lovely clean bathroom come with both a shower and bath.

The Rialto area is one of the busiest parts of the city. The main draw is obviously the bridge. The Ponte di Rialto [Rialto Bridge] is the true heart of Venice and was built in just three years and has spanned the Grand Canal since the 12th Century. This is the place to sit in one of the open-air cafes drinking hot chocolate while watching many of the gondolas float past.

There’s an excellent fish market here and from Tuesday through Saturday you are likely to find some of the most colorful and exciting open-air food market shopping experiences in all of Italy. Not only will you enjoy the views of the colourful facades of various palaces lining the Grand Canal but the Rialto Bridge offers excellent boutique shops selling jewelry, linen, Murano glass and other gifts.
