The property was clean and well presented. We were surprised at some of the comments in the in house comments book with regard to the standard of the property, it certainlly was not amazing by our standards of self catering property in Italy. Having spent New Year in Venice for the past 5 years however it was a much better option to staying in a hotel. It gave us the opportunity to cook meals that we enjoyed rather than endured from the not very good standard restaurants we have previously patronised. The facilities for this were great as were the variety of shops and supermarkets nearby. A bonus in Venice. The apartment is in a lovely area and for fans of Donna Leon the Questura is very nearby although I looked out daily for Guido Brunetti but was always disapointed. I would certainly recommend the apartment for its practical appeal rather than it's aesthetic or luxurious properties. The facilities provided us with a comfortable stay on a budget which we were in control of. We would definately stay there again.

Holiday Velvet service in booking and in Venice was excellent. The Botticelli apartment was located in a quiet but very convenient neighborhood behind Piazza San Marco within an easy walk of many sights and vaporetto stops. The apartment was very comfortable with very nice furnishings. The one-story walk-up to its own floor overlooking the small street below was very attractive and the dual-air conditioning pleasant. The kitchen was very complete but could use some more dishes, a good coffee pot and a wider selection of cooking utensils. A well-stocked but small grocery store was nearby as were small restaurants.

Upon arrival in Venice, I rang ahead and confirmed with Ernst and collection of keys. What an easy system. My sisters and I were ecstatic to easily find (thanks to great directions) an outstanding apartment, close to all amenities, clean and sooooo Venetian. Our only problem was we were not staying nearly long enough. I have recommended your service to friends and relatives already.

The property was excellent - everything we could possibly have hoped for. We especially appreciated the basic foods supplied - they were most welcome! The quality of linen, appliances, fittings etc, the cleanliness was top-notch. Thank you - we'll definitely use Holiday Velvet again!

The property is in an excellent location - not too touristy, but very close to most of the sights, lively and atmospheric (next to a bridge). 5 mins walk to St Mark's Square. It was clean and well equipped, with with typically venetian marble floor (take slippers in winter) and comfy beds. Beautifully framed mirrors and old furnishings gave this recently refurbished flat a lovely atmosphere. All in all, very good value. Only criticism is that we were a bit chilly at night (october-time) and a few more blankets would have been great.

What a lovely apt in Venice.The place was spotless, had all the amenities neede.The owners/agents stocked the fridge with milk, butter, juice, spaghetti, sauce, oil, everything needed to make a meal until you can make a trip to the store.The rooms were spacious, lots of storage space.The only problem is having to pick up the key at the entrance to Venice.Luckily sionce we had an early flight out we were able to lock the house and put the key through the mail chute.

Excellent location. This is a very comfortable apartment for 2 to 4 people. Cleanliness was excellent, coffee, tea, pasta, tomato sauce and bottled water were provided in the kitchen. The price was very reasonable for Venice. I would highly recommend this apartment. Only complaint is we were required to collect the key ourselves some distance away which was a little difficult. If arrangements could be made to meet someone at the apartment I would give it 5 stars.

Cancellation Policy

More than 70 days: In case of cancellation of a confirmed booking with more than 70 days prior warning, 30% of the total rental is required

Within 69-35 days: The cancellation of a confirmed booking within 69-35 days of the rental period, the Client will be liable for the amount of 40% of the total rental price.
Within 34-20 days: In case of cancellation of a confirmed booking within 34-20 days of the arrival date, the Client will be liable for 70% of the total rental price.
Within 19-10 days: In case of cancellation of a confirmed booking within 19-10 days of the arrival date, the Client will be liable for 80% of the total rental price.
Within 10 days: In case of cancellation of a confirmed booking within 10 days of the arrival date, the Client will be liable for 100% of the total rental price.
If the client abandons the property, he loses all rights to any eventual refund or rebate.
If there's a "no-show" without the client giving prior warning to Holiday Velvet , the client is liable for 100% of the total booking amount.
Should you need to cancel the reservation due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, airline cancellation, ill health etc, the same cancellation conditions as stated here apply.
