About Venice Rialto

The Rialto area is one of the busiest parts of the city. The main draw is obviously the bridge. The Ponte di Rialto [Rialto Bridge] is the true heart of Venice and was built in just three years and has spanned the Grand Canal since the 12th Century. This is the place to sit in one of the open-air cafes drinking hot chocolate while watching many of the gondolas float past. There’s an excellent fish market here and from Tuesday through Saturday you are likely to find some of the most colorful and exciting open-air food market shopping experiences in all of Italy.
