Vacation Rental Description

The palace where this Venice apartment rental is located was built in the second half of the XVI century by a noble Venetian family which remained in the family until the fall of the Republic. It is situated on the Canale Santa Margherita and faces the beautiful façade of the Church of Santa Maria dei Carmini. Today, it still boasts a number of remarkable artistic and architectural features which bear witness to its noteworthy history; these can be found both on the outside of the building and within the individual apartments.

This Venice apartment is reached via a charming internal courtyard and grand archway. One side looks onto the park, whilst the other looks onto the small orchard gardens of surrounding buildings. An elegant little building known as the “Foscarini Library” provides a delightful back-drop to this famous park. It was built by the Doge-Scholar in the middle of the 18th Century at the time of the last important major restoration of the palace.

The apartment is elegantly and traditionally furnished and consists of: The Grand “Salon”, that has an impressive beamed and moulded ceiling five meters high, a fine inlaid marble fireplace and is the main sitting-room/dining area. It also has a large double sofa-bed. There are also two large windows and a French window which lead into a terrace that overlooks the garden and flooding the room with light.

There's a modern and well-equipped kitchen area. The bathroom is fitted with bath/shower unit. There's a main bedroom with double bed and wardrobe and a small bedroom reached by a little staircase - a charming nook where one can escape to read or meditate, with an armchair which converts to a single bed, and a small wardrobe.

This apartment has a traditional Venetian atmosphere and offers guests a unique Venice experience.
