Strategically placed near restaurants, the Post Office, thermal swimming pools, shops, and 500 metres from the first farmed fields and the ancient woods which cover Mount Cetona. 1 hour and half from Rome airports along the A1 highway leading north (Florence), or same time by train (Chiusi Chianciano rail station).

This ancient palazzo (part of which dates back to the 15th century) has one entry on the main road of the village, and another from the garden out on the road leading outside of the village. Originally it was a convent then turned into the headquarters of a large agricultural estate, and has recently been partially restructured and entirely redecorated to a very high and beautiful standard.

3 drawing rooms, 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, 1 indoor heated swimming pool, the lemon-house, the oil-mill, and various covered spaces for cars are features of this lovely property, which has been uninterruptedly inhabited by our family for more than 100 years.
° This house was not furnished or restructured for commercial purposes. The fact that it is in the centre of the village, and at the same time also gives out on the outside of it, makes it exceptionally useful as a holiday venue.

It can be rented for weekly periods, bearing in mind the refined quality of the floors, the furnishings, and the different equipment, all of which is used by the family who go there often during the year.

3000 years ago, the magnificent site of Sarteano, at 575m/1875 feet above sea level, was already settled by the Etruscans, the peaceful and artistic people who are credited with Rome’s ancient architecture and the introduction of wine-making to the Italian peninsula. The village today owes it appearance, however, to the Middle Ages and the Rennaissance: a charming knot of stone buildings with a fortress, a handful of beautifully-decorated churches and some of the most famous thermal springs in Italy. Winding, scenic roads lead from Sarteano to hilltop Cetona, 7 minutes, and Chiusi, 15 minutes, where you’ll find the area’s largest supermarket. Further afield are the wine centres of Montepulciano and Orvieto, both 30 minutes; Cortona and Pienza, 40 minutes; and Siena and Perugia, roughly 1 hour.
