Il Casone is situated in the heart of the splendid Tuscan countryside and is the perfect accommodation if you are looking for a tranquil retreat in Tuscany. Perfectly positioned just 30 minutes walk from Sinalunga, a hilltop town situated amid many popular tourist destinations in Tuscany including UNESCO sites Florence , Pisa - Piazza del Duomo (Leaning Tower), San Gimignano, Pienza, Siena and Val d'Orcia. Its location offers the option of a quiet relaxing retreat for all the family, a base to discover the Tuscan countryside, visit charming little villages for a taste of typical Tuscan cuisine, or a combination of all three.

Il Casone sits in private grounds surrounded by olive groves and vine yards. The 3-bedroom house is extremely spacious and boasts a large terrace overlooking the rolling Tuscan countryside for “al fresco” meals. Il Casone comes highly equipped with all kitchen appliances, all linen, car parking, welcome pack & much more.

Il Casone is a child-friendly three bedroom property which sleeps a maximum of 8. It boasts a spacious living room/dining room and fully equipped kitchen. It also has a large terrace.

Living/Dining Room 1

The dining table seats eight and is ideal for family meals. The airy living-room sits under the most beautiful of Tuscan cielings to give you a warm relaxed feeling. With sofas and TV. This is the perfect place to relax and chill out.

Living/Dining Room 2

Another large dining table capable of sitting upto 8 people. Dining table sits next to a lovely, large arch window which can be opened to let in a lovely breeze on hot summer days. Living area has a confortable 3-piece suite which sits in front of an open fire (ideal for those cold winters). Door from living area onto the terrace.

Bedroom 1

This king size room is stunning. 1 King size bed and 1 sinlge bed. The beds will offer you hours of comfort and a great night's sleep. Plenty of storage. Tranquillity reigns in this elegant room with its simple but refreshing style. The en-suite bathroom comprises of a walk in shower, toilet basin, sink and mirror.

Bedroom 2

This large twin room has 3 single begs, 2 of which which can be pushed together to make a double bed. This room also offers spectacular views over the Tuscan countryside.

Bedroom 3

The smallest of the 3 bedrooms but still a comfortable double bedroom. Lovely views from the bedroom window.

Terrace

Our terrace is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Split with a sun and shaded area it is perfect for a spot of sunbathing or even to enjoy some night time drinks whilst soaking up the atmosphere of Tuscany with friends.

Local transport from nearby Sinalunga (approx. 2km) will take you anywhere you wish to go in Italy.

Tuscany is known for its landscapes and its artistic legacy. Six Tuscan localities have been made UNESCO protected sites: the historical center of Florence (1982), the historical center of Siena (1995), the square of the Cathedral of Pisa (1987), the historical center of San Gimignano (1990), the historical center of Pienza (1996) and the Val d'Orcia (2004).

Sinalunga

Sinalunga is a hill-town with Etruscan origins where farming is still one of the most important sources of income along with flourishing small industries. Numerous hotels and farms attract tourists from all over the world. During your stay in the splendid countryside around Sinalunga, don't miss a visit to the Teatro (Theatre), built in the 18th Century and named after famous local musician, Ciro Pinsuti. Also worth seeing are the coats of arms of the Podesta' on the walls of the 15th Century Palazzo Pretorio. Sinalunga boasts several churches of great importance including the 17th Century Collegiate Church of San Martino with works by Girolamo del Pacchia, the 18th Century Church of Santa Croce, and Santa Lucia. On the hill at Poggio Baldino just outside the town you will find the Convent of San Bernardino with works by various 16th Century artists.

Sinalunga offers a variety of bars and restaurants to satisfy every taste. A recently refurbished swimming pool in the centre of the village provides an alternative way to spend your day.

Pienza

Pienza, a town and commune in the province of Siena, in the Val d'Orcia in Tuscany (central Italy), between the towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino, is the "touchstone of Renaissance urbanism."

In 1996, UNESCO declared the town a World Heritage Site, and in 2004 the entire valley, the Val d'Orcia, was included on the list of UNESCO's World Cultural Landscapes.

Montepulciano

Montepulciano, a town and commune in the province of Siena in southern Tuscany, (Italy), is a medieval and renaissance hill town of exceptional beauty. Montepulciano, with an elevation of 605 m (around 2000 ft), sits on a high limestone ridge.

Montepulciano is a major producer of food and drink. Wine connoisseurs consider its Vino Nobile among Italy's best. However, the Vino Nobile de Montepulciano should not be confused with the varietal wine (Montepulciano grape) of the same name. Montepulciano is also known for its pork, cheese, "pici" pasta (a thick, rough, chewy variant on spaghetti), lentils, and honey.

Siena

Siena (traditionally Sienna in English) is a city in Tuscany, Italy. It is the capital of the province of Siena.

The historic centre of Siena has been declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.

Siena, like other Tuscan hill towns, was first settled in the time of the Etruscans (c. 900 BC to 400 BC) when it was inhabited by a tribe called the Saina.

Siena is the embodiment of a medieval city. Its inhabitants pursued their rivalry with Florence right into the area of urban planning. Throughout the centuries, they preserved their city's Gothic appearance, acquired between the 12th and 15th centuries. During this period the work of Duccio, the Lorenzetti brothers and Simone Martini was to influence the course of Italian and, more broadly, European art. The whole city of Siena, built around the Piazza del Campo, was devised as a work of art that blends into the surrounding landscape.

San Gimignano

San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, central Italy. It is mainly famous for its medieval architecture, especially its towers, which may be seen from several kilometers outside the town.

The town also is known for the white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, grown in the area.

By car it is 90.4 km – about 1 hour 25 mins

Cortona

The prevailing character of Cortona’s architecture is medieval with steep narrow streets situated on a hillside (altitude 600 metres), embracing a view of the whole of the Valdichiana. From the Piazza Garibaldi (still referred to by the local population by its older name, Piazza Carbonaia) is a fine prospect of Lago Trasimeno, scene of Hannibal's ambush of the Roman army in 217 BC (Battle of Lake Trasimene). Parts of the Etruscan city wall can still be seen today as the basis of the present wall. The main street, via Nazionale, is the only street in the town with no gradient, and is still usually referred to by locals by its older name of Ruga Piana, or "level street".

Florence

Florence (or Firenze, Florentia and Fiorenza) is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany, and of the province of Florence. It is the most populated city in Tuscany with 364,779 people.

From 1865 to 1870 the city was also the capital of the Kingdom of Italy. Florence lies on the Arno River and it is known for its history and its importance in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance, especially for its art and architecture. A centre of medieval European trade and finance, the city is often considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and was long ruled by the Medici family. In fact, the city has been called the Athens of the Middle Ages.[1]

The "Historic Centre of Florence" was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO in 1982.

Today, Rome is modern and cosmopolitan, and the third most-visited tourist destination in the EU.

As one of the few major European cities that escaped World War II relatively unscathed, central Rome remains essentially Renaissance and Baroque in character. The Historic Center of Rome is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
