Vacation Rental Description

The Tuscany vacation apartment in Siena for self-catering, called 'Mansarda', is on the first floor of what used to be a Chapel. This together with the Tuscany Villa next to it, was part of a large farmhouse and their existence has been documented since the 16th century.

Tuscany Villa Luisa is located 10km south of the city of Siena, in the Etruscan area, and commands a breathtaking view of of the surrounding hills (the 'Crete Senesi') and of Siena with its Torre del Mangia, where the Palio is run twice a year. Situated at the entrance of a hamlet called 'Ville di Corsano', the Villa is reached along a surfaced, very panoramic road. The Etruscan museum in the charming borough of Murlo is not far, as well as the town of Monteroni on the Via Cassia (SS.2) leading to Buonconvento and eventually Rome.

The owner of the Capanna, signora Luisa Golzi, a former teacher of English, has recently renovated the whole building and relandscaped the garden with great attention to details. Together with the terrace added to the front of the Tuscany villa, it makes the perfect place to relax and enjoy sunbathing in privacy.

The loft-style Tuscany vacation apartment 'Mansarda' (60 sqm)- so called because of its Tuscan ceiling with large wood beams - recently refurbished, has independent entrance and can comfortably accommodate 2 people (3 or 4 are possible for short stays). Plenty of light comes from its large windows overlooking the garden and the hills, and the furnishings are elegant.

The well-equipped kitchen has new appliances, the conversation corner has comfortable armchairs, and the sleeping area has one double bed, a large single bed that in daytime can be a handy sofa , and a comfortable folding single bed. Bathroom with bath and shower, and washing machine. TV, own heating- and air-conditioning systems, gas and electricity meters.

Bed linen, blankets, bath and kitchen towels are provided, changed weekly and included in the rent. Existing telephone line can be activated for computer use.Phone calls are possible only from Pc with Skype or similar (and online credit) and a USB phone.

 

On request (paid extra): breakfast and pick-up service from bus/train stations, fax and e-mail service can be arranged. Covered car park in the garden. English is spoken.

Every effort is made to ensure the comfort and privacy of our guests.

Nearby Facilities:

- Within short walking distance (500m.) are the post-office, bar-pizzeria-restaurant and a supermarket.

- Buses to and from Siena (not many) stop near the entrance.

 

- Open all year: indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, horse-back rides, mountain bike and hiking trails.

- The area is criss-crossed by rides that can be enjoyed in any season. Thermal waters and beauty farms are 15/ 30km away.

The location of Tuscany Villa Luisa is extremely convenient as it offers countless opportunities for daily outings also to Florence, Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Volterra. Smaller but equally delightful centers include Montalcino (famous for s.Antimo Monastery as well as for its 'Brunello' wine), Montepulciano, Pienza, San Quirico, San Galgano with the 'Sward in the Rock'. In the area there are well organized spa's (Bagno Vignono, Rapolano), beauty farms where you can go also for a swimm in thermal waters.

The sandy beaches of the Uccellina Regional Park are just one hour drive away.

In Montalcino: not to miss the Wine Relais "Il Paradiso di Frassina" where you will be greeted by the owner,Avv.Carlo Cignozzi, with my daughter Diana Grandi and little Gea, who gives name to one of their exquisite wines.

At Paradiso di Frassina wines are produced using music melodies in the fields. This betters the quality of the wine,as demonstrated by studies at Florence University.
