The Fethiye Museum has ancient artifacts of various civilizations right from the Lycians, that tell of the city's history.Fethiye has done wonders for the tourism of the Turkey-coast, bringing in hordes of visitors and immigrants. The relatively cheaper lifestyle, affordable apartments in Fethiye and hospitable locals attract a lot of Europeans, especially the British; in fact, English has become almost as much of a native language as Turkish! It boasts of long summers with July and August recording the hottest average temperature of 34 degrees, and cool winters from December to February at 16 degrees, with occasional rain. One can ramble through the Old town of Pasaptur, shopping for interesting souvenirs, followed by some great dining ambience at the Deep Blue Bar. Fethiye is a convenient 50 kilometer (31 mile) drive by car or bus to the Dalaman airport. Another route to get here during the summer is a direct ferry service from the Greek island of Rhodes.
