It is quite difficult for travellers to resist the unique charm of the city's eighty kilometres of beaches.

Framed by the wavy black and white mosaics of Avenida Atlântica, the neighbourhood of Copacabana is one of the reasons for this fascination.

There are two separate beaches in the district of Copacabana: Leme beach, a very nice and exclusive neighbourhood (one kilometre) and Copacabana, (about three kilometres). Both are active are during night and day, the beach is surrounded by beautiful kiosks, a bicycle path and racks, lifeguard posts, public showers and bathrooms.
