Rome Apartment: Margutta Chic

Margutta Chic is a beautiful refurbished loft with a panoramic terrace located on Via Margutta, the famous artists' street in the centre of Rome, just minutes from the Spanish Steps. This was once the studio of artist Lorenzo Gigotti and is housed in a typical, late 18th-century building.

To enter the loft you have to cross a peaceful inner courtyard, with wisteria and jasmine clinging to the walls. In the loft itself a spacious mezzanine floor has been built where a queen size bed was placed. An elegant walnut staircase connects the mezzanine floor to a large living room.

The living room is very bright with terracotta tiled floor throughout and includes a sitting area with two double sofa beds, and a dining table. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen and a luxurious bathroom in majolica with bath, separate shower cabinet and double wash basins sunk into a marble top.

From the living room you access is a large furnished terrace with a view over the roofs of Rome.

Piazza di Spagna is found just south of Villa Borghese park, midway between Piazza Barberini and Piazza del Popolo and just off the Via del Corso, Rome's main shopping street.

The area is a very upmarket residential area, inhabited by Roman families who live there seemingly oblivious to the tourism and enjoying life - like in any regular neighborhood.

There is a metro station just outside the Spanish Steps from which you can reach Rome's main train station "Roma Termini".
