The area was called in the 18th century Roman slang "er ghetto de l'inglesi" (the English ghetto). Now it is a homely area and an ideal location for exploring Rome by foot, as all major attractions: the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona. The area is replete with cafes, restaurants, internet cafes, trattorias and gelato shops.
