Introducing The United StatesSuch is the cultural omnipotence of this superpower that even before you arrive it feels as though you already know the place inside out and once there, it's everything that you expect and then some more. New York City, the country's most populous and most famous city is believed by many residents and visitors alike to be the capital of the world. Founded, built and inhabited by immigrants – there are an incredible 800 languages spoken here - much of New York's charm lies in its ethnic diversity and cultural richness, reflected in all facets of its society, from food to film to fashion. Scale the Empire State building for some of the most breathtaking views on earth, relax in the heavenly Central Park, marvel at the Statue of Liberty, catch a cool indie movie at the Film Forum, visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art and eat food from just about every nation imaginable. It's literally a world in one. It's impossible to do anything but smile in Miami, Florida, the sunshine state. It's trendy, easy-going and very hot. Renting an apartment in South Beach is typical Miami, intriguingly unapologetic, sunbathing, surfing and lots of posing. When the sun goes down there's some great places to grab a bite, such as the legendary Joe's Stone Crab. Little Havana is an absolute must, an area born of the exodus from Castro's Cuba in 1959, with Latin music, speakeasies and lots of cigar smoke, it's an achingly cool spot. Disneyland is only a short trip from the city and great day out for kids and grow-ups alike. From East coast over to the West, sprawling Los Angeles, the city of Angels, is a once in a lifetime vacation. The USA's second most populous city is all that you imagine it to be, glitz, glamour and good times. The Universal Studios theme-park, the Hollywood sign, Hollywood boulevard, Rodeo Drive, celebrity-spotting (you're pretty much guaranteed to see one), Malibu beach and even the cultural treat of the Getty Museum, L.A. is just how you imagine. Californians also like to boast that it's home to the best sushi there is too – outside of Japan, anyway!
