Your shopping itch is scratched by boutiques offering anything and everything: eclectic fashions, the best independent bookstores, funky record stores, antiques and kitschy ephemera. One block away is the famous Noho/Soho shopping and design district. The popular Ludlow street is less than five minutes on foot. At the end of the block is First Park, including a new outdoor café that is perfect for relaxing and people-watching. The best areas of lower New York are within easy walking distance, including Greenwich Village, Washington Square Park, Astor Place and Union Square Park. Entertainment is everywhere, including live music, movies and clubs. All in all, the East Village provides the true New York experience.
All public transportation is easily accessed from the block. The subway F line has entrances on both corners of the block, and subway stations for the 6 line are less than five minutes on foot. Bus stops are on both corners of the block, and taxis can be easily hailed at any time of the day or night.
