Vacation Rental Description

NO OKTOBERFEST 2008 Availability. Fully rennovated in August of 2006, this charming studio welcomes up to two lucky guests to Munich. The apartment building is located in the ISARVORSTADT and is very central. Bus 152, caught around the corner, will bring you directly to the SENDLINGER TOR transportation hub, or one stop further, to Munich's historical Viktualienmarkt. The apartment itself is located in the inner courtyard on the ground floor. You have your own private entrance and, inspite of being in the middle of the city, the apartment is very quiet. Take a seat and read under your own vines of beans and grapes. Stroll along the Isar River to the Flaucher Beer Garden. In three blocks you can enjoy the fun of the Oktoberfest.

Comprised of 1.5 airy rooms, this studio offers a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, a good sized fridge, a large sit down shower, broadband wireless internet service, and is very tastefully decorated. The bathroom is seperated by a door from the kitchen and a half wall seperates the kitchen from the living/sleeping area.

The apartment faces West and receives nice light without becoming a sauna! The courtyard was voted Munich's best in 1998. Ok, that was a few years ago, but it still looks great. The building is in the funky meat-packing district, which has the feel of a neighborhood within a neighborhood. Around the corner are the popular meetings spots of Zoozie's, Bavarese, Zimt, and Pur Pur. Be sure to make dinner reservations at Makassar. Roger and Roland have run this popular French restaurant for years. Roger spent several years as Jacques Cousteau's chef aboard Calypso. Ask him to show you the photographs. If celebrating a birthday, be sure and let them know!

About Munich City Centre

Although part of the ISARVORSTADT, the building belongs more to the SCHLACHTHOFVIERTEL. Loosly translated this means the meat-packing district. The neighborhood is made up of only 4 streets, but has more than 12 cafes and restaurants. It is also very close to the THERESIENWIESE, home of the famous Oktoberfest. You are a short distance from the middle of Munich which can be easily reached via bus, walking, biking, or underground. This is the ideal spot to begin a nice day of walking around the city. The neighborhood is bordered on the West by the slaughter house and wholesale market and on the East by the Isar River. To the direct North is the historic Südfriedhof (South Cemetary) where most of Munich's elite currently reside.

1. A one-time cleaning fee of 50 Euros is added to each stay. During Oktoberfest and certain trade fairs, the rate is 150 Euros per night. Oktoberfest carries a 4 night minimum.
