The bulk of London's highest-ranking finance companies are based in The City, and it is one of the world's leading financial centers. The City is also the oldest part of London, and leisure travellers enjoy learning about its rich history. Choosing a London holiday apartment in The City is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to feel as though they are right in the middle of England's fast-moving capital. Hotel rooms in this area can be extremely expensive; London City holiday apartments offer better value for money for both business travellers and holidaymakers.Sightseeing in The City is great fun, as well as being an educational experience. Unfortunately, some of London's oldest buildings were lost during bombing in World War II, but others, including the famous St Paul's cathedral, have survived relatively intact. As well as the spectacular architecture, visitors to St Paul's can also enjoy works of art by contemporary artists, which are displayed in the cathedral as part of the St Paul's Cathedral Arts Project. The old buildings that have been lost from The City over the years have been replaced by some striking modern structures, including the iconic Gherkin building, and Heron Tower, which at a height of more than 200 meters dominates the skyline in this part of London. Rhodes Twenty Four, the flagship restaurant of TV chef Gary Rhodes, is located on the 24th floor of one of The City's tallest buildings. A more down-to-earth dining experience can be had at the Italian restaurant Spaghetti House, which offers delicious dishes such as asparagus ravioli. Despite the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, the prices at the Spaghetti House are surprisingly reasonable by central London standards.
