With lovely views over Lisbon rooftops and the River Tagus, this self-catering one bedroom Lisbon apartment is situated on the 3rd floor (no lift) of a charming stone building on top of castle hill in the quaint and rustic Castelo neighbourhood.  The apartment, which measures about 45 sq. metres, can comfortably sleep up to 3 guests making it ideal for a romantic escapade for couples or for friends or small families looking to explore the secrets of the “city of the hills”.

This accommodation in Castelo features tasteful furnishings and modern amenities.  The open-space living area features a sofa bed, a TV and a dining table for 4 guests.  The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking meals at home and includes a fridge, an oven, a microwave and a coffee machine.

This self-catering one bedroom Lisbon apartment is located on a typical street of old Lisbon (Rua do Espirito Santo) inside the castle walls. In fact the São Jorge Castle is a few steps from the building. This neighborhood is quiet and calm with an authentic feeling of local culture in a village setting.  There are several pedestrian-only streets making it even more peaceful.

Other attractions near the apartment can be reached by foot.  Down the hill, is the main street that goes around the castle area where there are 2 of the most beautiful viewpoints in Lisbon: Portas do Sol and Santa Luzia with fantastic views over the Alfama district, Tejo River and other monuments of the city.

The São Vicente Monastery, the Sé Cathedral and the Panteao are also walking distance. From this point, explore the old Alfama district with its narrow cobbled streets and tight alleyways. This genuine neighborhood has nice and economical restaurants and even some Fado houses. 

This accommodation in Castelo is also close to small grocery stores, coffee shops, pastry shops and restaurants.

The area has good transport connections. You can get there by taking the mini bus nº37 that strolls from the downtown district of Baixa to the Castle or take tram nº28 or 12 and then climb up to the castle.
