More Las Vegas Travel Tips in our online |
With 28 million visitors a year, Las Vegas is surely the first entertainment destination in the world. Las Vegas casinos are visited all year round, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If gambling and gaming activities is your thing then no better destination then Las Vegas.
The Strip - a 3 and 1/2 miles stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South between Russell Road and Sahara Ave - runs south-north through the city. Most of Las Vegas restaurants, shows, hotels and casinos are on or just off the strip. Then there is the downtown las vegas area and the famous Fremont Street, that some people call "the real old school Vegas".
The world famous Las Vegas Strip -- correctly it is the Las Vegas Boulevard -- extends from the southern edge of the city to downtown. Just driving down the strip past all these spectacular casino resorts is a fantastic experience. At night, "the strip in Las Vegas" comes alive with miles of colored neon and millions of dancing, pulsating lights. The most fun to have had is to go in and out of Las Vegas Strip hotels and sample a bit of their gambling facilities, restaurants and bars.
In previous decades, downtown Las Vegas had been headed downhill but a huge investment was made into giving it a facelift and so Fremont Street, in downtown Vegas, was converted into a pedestrian mall with a 90-foot high canopy providing shade from the hot desert sun. Musicians and street entertainers provide free entertainment day and night. After dark, 2 million lights in the canopy are used to create a wonderful display of animated color images known as the Fremont Street Experience.
