Vacation Rental Description

Stock Park Cottage is a beautifully decorated, detached single storey Lakeland cottage idyllically situated on the shores of Lake Windermere with direct lake access in a parkland setting. The holiday cottage has two bedrooms, with a spacious master bedroom with charming cottage style decoration and atmospheric lighting. The kitchen is modern, bright and airy and outside this country cottage front door is a superb seating area with chairs provided, offering excellent views of the surrounding parkland and Lake Windermere.

This delightful cottage is the perfect base for a quiet, relaxed holiday in close proximity to many attractions and walking opportunities. Free boat launching and parking are available, with bicycle storage in the detached garage. Children are most welcome, and cots and high chairs can be provided on request. We also welcome well behaved pets. We now offer use of Cascades Leisure Club at the nearby Whitewater Hotel.

About Lake District Windermere

Set in the Southern Lake District, Stock Park Cottage is ideally situated for exploring the area by foot or by car.

For those wanting an adventure, there are lots of walks from the door (Gummer's How, High Dam) as well as many a short drive away (Coniston Old Man, Grizedale Forest Trails, Scafell). If its Lakes you are after Windermere is on your doorstep, or try Consiton, Esthwaite Water or the stunning Wastwater (about an hours drive away). Cycle hire, pony trekking and boat hire are also available locally.

For a less strenuous day out enjoy a cruise on Windermere (0.5 miles away), ride on a steam train or visit the Aquarium (Lakeside), visit nearby historic houses (Blackwells Arts & Crafts house, Dove Cottage) or simply indulge in some shopping in Ambleside, Bowness, Hawkshead, Coniston or Ulverston (all less than 10 miles away).

For evening entertainment try Zeferelli’s in Ambleside, an excellent independent cinema, jazz bar and vegetarian Italian restaurant or experience a 3-D aerial tour of the lakes at the I-max cinema at Rheghed, near Penrith. The Swan at Newby Bridge and the Bridge Bistro at the Texaco Garage are well worth a visit. For that special occasion, why not treat yourself to a special meal at the Lakeside hotel or maybe a pint or two at the fireside bar.

For theatre officianados, there is a varied range of events at The Brewery Arts centre in Kendal. Ulverston also has an annual Dickensian Festival the last weekend in November.
