Bed & Breakfast Description

At Plumtree we are proud to offer quality Lake District bed and breakfast accommodation in a beautiful rural setting.

We have three bedrooms available, all of which have their own en-suite bathroom facilities. Due to our location each of the bedrooms offer excellent countryside views. 

Guests of Plumtree House are welcome to make use of our residents lounge where you can relax and unwind in front of a real log fire after a hard day's leisure.

About Lake District Windermere

Plumtree House Nestles under the local landmark of Scouts Scar, set in a convenient yet rural location. Ideal for either touring or walking holidays or just for a quiet country break being only 8 miles from junction 36 of the M6 motorway, 3 miles from Kendal and 9 miles from Lake Windermere.

The Lake District is a treasured place of scenic beauty and has so much to offer any visitor to the area, especially those interested in walking, cycling, climbing and of course watersports. Aside from the well known lakes of Windermere, Ullswater & Coniston, the mountains of Skiddaw, Helvellyn, Great Gable, Scafell & Coniston Old Man, there are also a number of spectacular Lakeland passes including Kirkstone, Wrynose & Hardknott, which are a must for any visitor.

Cumbria - the Lake District is home to many famous attractions like Windermere Lake Cruises, Rheged Discovery Centre, Muncaster Castle, Dove Cottage, Ullswater Steamers, Levens Hall, Hutton in the Forest and South Lakes Wild Animal Park to name just a few.
