This 300 year Old unique Swahili Mansion is situated in Lamu Town a World Heritage Site on the beautiful Island of Lamu just off the Kenyan Coast. The property belongs to a British Architect and his French wife and has been loving restored and is furnished with Antiques and artifacts giving it a luxury ambiance. It offers stunning sea views from its terraces and is situated close to the historic waterfronts where Dhow sails are the main form of transport. The house enjoys a shaded courtyard garden and is excellently located to enjoy the rich cultural history of the environment.
There are 4 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms including a seperate garden suite and a truely enormous Master Bedroom with private terrace and pool. The property is fully equipped and has solar panels together with electrical invertor backup to ensure you have a confortable stay. There are trained House staff to meet and greet you on arrival and deal with your daily needs.

Lamu Town is a unique cultural heritage, containing unique relics of the coastal trade routes of the Indian Ocean showing the mixture of African and Arabic culture. The Island is a virtual car free zone, the mode of transport is Donkey, Footpower, or boat. It offers a perfect place to relax after a safari, and to enjoy trips to the surrounding Islands or a walk along Shelas 15km of undeveloped Beach; Seafood is abundant and cheap, and local markets are colourful. Woodcarving, fishing and Dhow building are local pass times, and interesting local produce can be purchased. Lamu is easily accessible by air direct from Nairobi or Mombasa/Malindi, or can be reached by road by the more adventurous travellers - though cars will have to be left at the ferry.
