Vacation Rental Description

pera!place is a fully furnished character apartment in the district of Pera, Beyoglu, in the heart of Istanbul. On the first floor of a listed 19th century building (an award-winning renovation project), it overlooks a lively and interesting little street. The apartment covers 55 square meters and comprises entrance hall, large living room with original marble fireplace and amazing ceiling, one double bedroom, a bathroom and small kitchen. There are frescos on several walls and the furnishing is a mix of modern and antique: stylish and comfortable. We've just renovated pera!place (May 2008). All work and furnishing has been completed to a very high standard. You can be amongst the first to enjoy the new bathroom, kitchen and furniture. And while you do, we'll plant a tree towards offsetting the CO2 produced by your flight to Istanbul.

About Istanbul Taksim

TimeOut Istanbul says "If you have just one night to spend in Istanbul, spend it on Nevizade sokak". You can spend as many as you like: pera!place is just 50 meters away from Nevizade sokak. The apartment’s bay window -‘cumba’ in Turkish- hangs over a lively pedestrian street (Balo Sokak), so that you can look down upon bustling every-day Istanbul from your own retreat. As you leave the building, next door to the left is a bakery for fantastic fresh-baked bread, and next door to the right is a ‘bufe’ selling Turkish coffee, tea and snacks. A few buildings further up you’ll find Nevizade Sokak, packed with tables and fabulous restaurants, where at night you can be serenaded by wandering gypsy musicians while you eat. A few buildings more and you’re on Istiklal Caddesi, the main pedestrian thoroughfare and 5 minutes walk away from Taksim square, the commercial centre of Istanbul. If you do wish to visit Sultanahmet for some historical context (or maybe a carpet?!) then you are 15mins away by taxi or half an interesting hour by tram and tube.
