Travel Tips for Area: Islands Brygge
Best Attractions Within Walking Distance of Islands Brygge, Copenhagen

Islands Brygge looked like it was destined for a very unromantic demise; the industrial waterfront area of Copenhagen left neglected for years. Recent development however, has seen it transform into one of the city’s most desirable suburbs. Trendy boutiques and eateries abound and its location means it is an oasis from which to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Havnepark, a large public waterfront refuge, is fantastic for a stroll or a picnic, and the Cultural Centre nearby gifts a lovely insight into the local art scene. The harbour baths on Islands Brygge are very popular with locals on a hot day and provide visitors a chance to cool down and frolic in the waters off Copenhagen bay. The water quality is kept at a sparkling level, and the five pools do a great job in enticing hundreds every week-end in summer. You don´t have to be Einstein to deduce that booking your holiday rental apartment on Islands Brygge is about as good as a Copenhagen holiday gets! While staying here, keep in mind that many of the city’s major tourist attractions are within walking distance, so head to the following places when visiting, and your Danish vacation will ...

The best nightclubs in Vesterbro

Travel Tips for Area: Vesterbro
The best nightclubs in Vesterbro

The Vesterbro district of Copenhagen is one of the trendiest and most interesting suburbs in the Danish capital. Whilst locals have been flocking here in their droves over the last decade, thanks to it developing into the cheapest central suburb in town, Vesterbro is also emerging as the hub of Copenhagen’s vibrant nightlife and the ideal holiday bay for visiting tourists. The newest addition to the clubbing scene? Well, that would be the Meatpacking District, the most exciting nook to come out of Vesterbro. Funky clubs, casual pubs and insanely busy techno-meccas are springing up on every nook of Vesterbro, making this by far the most sought-after address for a brilliantly fun, cocktail-filled night out in Copenhagen. Don’t fancy a long walk home after a big night out? Then book your holiday rental accommodation in Vesterbro and make the following four ultra-hip clubs your next-door neighbours. Bakken, Flaesketorvet 81 This is the place to see and be seen in the whole of Copenhagen and, whilst we’re not normally fans of the ‘latest’ hot spots, this one kind of deserves the rap. The music is mixed and loud, the crowd kind of wild (which seems to be de rigeur in this hood) and the ...

Trendiest cocktail bars, South Copenhagen

Travel Tips for Area: Copenhagen South
Trendiest cocktail bars, South Copenhagen

Copenhagen, the Danish capital, has long been known for its eclectic mix of architecture, attractions, and inhabitants. If it were to be compared to a drink, one would say Copenhagen is the cocktail of choice in Europe. It’s only fitting then, that this vibrant and stimulating city has recently joined a long list of illustrious destinations that have had a cocktail named after them. That’s right folks, say goodbye to the Singapore Slings, Havanas (or is it Havaianas?) and Long islands...the Copenhagen is in town! Intoxicating for all the right reasons, the Copenhagen is the creation of one of the city’s most popular bartenders, who works in one of the city’s trendiest cocktail bars. Gromit Eduards, of Bar 1105, was the winner of the concoction-making competition back in 2009, and his mouth watering potion has been duplicated ever since in countless bars not only in Copenhagen, but all over the world. Based on the internationally renowned Cherry Heering, one of the most used liqueurs in the world, the Copenhagen is as much patriotic symbolism as anything else. The city is actually the birthplace of the Heering brand and has therefore been part of cocktail-history for many decades. Want to know more ...
