Prague airport is about nine miles or fifteen kilometres from Prague city centre and the taxi journey into Prague takes up to forty minutes, depending on the traffic. Most international travellers flying to New York City will land at one of three airports. The airport with the most traffic, handling about 48 million passengers a year, is JFK International Airport. JFK is situated in Queens County at the western end of Long Island, south east of New York City and is about 12 miles from Lower Manhattan. GETTING TO NEW YORK FROM JFK AIRPORT There are several ways of getting to New York from JFK and one of the least expensive is by the Air Train, which is part of the subway and commuter rail network. The Air Train stops at all the termini within JFK, the various parking and car rental lots, and hotel shuttle areas, and connects to the Long Island Railroad. GETTING TO AMSTERDAM CENTER BY TRAIN Travel into the centre of Amsterdam from the airport is very easy as the airport is so close to the city. The Nederlandse Spoorwegen is the national train operator in the Netherlands and it serves the train station which is directly underneath the main passenger terminals. Travelling by train is the swiftest and cheapest method of getting into Amsterdam and other cities within the region such as Utrecht and The Hague. Apart from serving Amsterdam Centraal, Utrecht and The Hague Centraal, the high speed train also goes to Rotterdam and Eindhoven; and there are high speed links from Schiphol Airport to Antwerp, Brussels and Paris. Berlin has two international airports that serve the city, Berlin Tegel and Berlin-Schönefeld. BERLIN TEGEL AIRPORT Berlin Tegel Airport is the closest to Berlin and is the airport used by major international carriers including the German companies, Lufthansa and Air Berlin. To get to Berlin from Tegel Airport is not a problem as the airport is almost within the city boundary. There are local trains and express trains that pass through Tegel Station but do not go to the actual airport itself. However, the JetExpress TXL bus connects Tegel Airport to Beusselstraße S-Bahn station in only ten minutes and connects to the main railway station in Berlin, Berlin Hauptbahnhof station, in about twenty minutes. The X9 is a bus route that connects Tegel Airport to the heart of Berlin and bus 109 goes from Tegel Airport to Jakob-Kaiser Platz U-Bahn station in little more than five minutes.
