If you’re looking for a splendid spa on your next Brussels vacation, look no further than Avenue Louise, the city’s premier shopping and dining strip.
The 2.7km artery boasts an interesting history, and has been at the centre of Brussels’ effervescence for over 150 years. Flanked by enormous chestnut trees, and inhabited by some of the richest people in the country, Avenue Louise is the epitome destination for anyone wanting to experience the fashionable essence of the Belgian capital.
So if you happen to encounter a rainy day whilst on a Brussels vacation, or you simply want to indulge all your senses for just a few hours, then book an apartment on Avenue Louise and head to one of our favourite beauty and health spas.
Serendip Spa, 18 Place Stephanie
On popular and trendy Stephanie Square is where you’ll find Serendip Spa, one of the city’s very best beauty retreats. This is the place to come to if being spoiled and serviced from head to toe in deliciously relaxing surroundings is just your thing. From yoga classes, to face and body treatments and a chance to snap up some of the best botanical beauty products in Europe, Serendip Spa offers enough enticements to seduce you for hours on end.
The gorgeous tropical mood is set the moment you walk in: the delicious scented candles, rich red hues and inviting Balinese-style decor have a way of lowering the blood pressure of even the most stressed out visitor. Or the most hung-over! Speaking of which…if you happen to have had one too many cocktails on your night out in Brussels (we hear it can happen), then best you head here and indulge in a Ayurvedic Harmony Package to get you mojo back your. For one and a half heavenly hours you’ll be massaged from head to toe by a god/goddess who will use warmed organic oils and make you feel reborn. Truly the best remedy for ANY kind of stress you may have subjected your body to!
A visit at Serendip is delectable from beginning to end. Owned by a former yoga teacher who uses only organic, natural products, Serendip is almost too Zen for words.
Aspria Avenue Louise, 71b Avenue Louise
The Aspria Club has somewhat of a cult following, and we certainly wouldn’t blame anyone for making this a regular hangout. The combined spa and sport centre offers a superlative gym, coupled with sensational spa treatments to rejuvenate your body. Leave the big city stresses behind and delve onto this wonderful oasis of calmness and tranquility. You can spend an entire day wrapped in a fluffy robe, hopping between the Jacuzzi, hammam, gym, pool and sauna. Have a massage, facial and rejuvenating body scrub and not even your mum will be able to recognise you! Aspria Spa uses well known brands like Dermalogica and Decleor and has over 60 treatments to choose from.
Aspria may not be as atmospheric as Serendip, but they do offer some really great treatments and here you have the chance to spend the whole day relaxing or (heaven forbid) exercising, so it is ideal if you want more than just a tranquil reprieve.
Livia Kova Spa, Idaliestraat 12
Livia Kova Spa has twice been awarded the ‘best spa in Brussels’ award and a visit is well worth the five minute car ride from Avenue Louise. Known mostly for their avant-garde Intraceutical oxygen treatments (one of Madonna’s faves), Livia Kova offer a vast array of innovative treatments to help treat dehydration, wrinkles, water retention and more. A great balance between the delectable and the utterly useful, the services here may not come cheap, but they certainly are well respected and recognised.
