Villanueva del Trabuco is a 'pueblo blanco' with whitewashed houses andrnred roofs and the atmosphere is typically Spanish. The village has arncentral plaza and plenty of bars and restaurants. It is an ideal base for visiting the historic towns and cities of Andalucia and the beaches of the Costa del Sol.
Trabuco Heights apartment is in the rnolder "barrio" and forms the upper floor of a traditional village rnhouse with its own access. It is on the edge of the pine forest and has panoramic views over the village and olive groves to the mountains.rnTo the rear is a private garden with barbecue patio and terrace for 'al fresco' dining.
It offers modern, rncomfortable 2 doubled bedroomed accommodation + a sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is very well equipped with oven and hob, frrdge freezer, washing machine, coffee maker and plenty of utensils and crockery.
The spacious shower room has a vanity unit and basin, separate shower stall, wc, panel heater, rnstorage shelves and cupboards.
The apartment is south facing and the living room and bedrooms have the sun all day. The private garden is ideal for sunbathing or just relaxing in the shade with a book and a glass of wine.
As Villanueva del Trabuco is a mountain village, there are many slopes and rnsteps. The property is on a high level, and as such, it is unsuitable for very young rnchildren or those with walking difficulties. Pets are not allowed. Smokers are rnasked to respect the property and smoke outside although caution should be rnobserved near the pine forest!
About Malaga Malaga
Villanueva del Trabuco is very central for enjoying the historic sites of Andalucia and for visiting the beaches and the ski slopes. It is approximately 45 minutes drive from either Malaga or Granada airport and 3 kms from the motorway. Day trips can include Granada (70km), Malaga (45km), Seville (180km) and Cordoba (140km). Gibraltar is rnaround 2 hours drive and Portugal 4 hours.
The old provincial centres of Antequera, Archidona and Loja are rnless than 30 mins away. All these places have good restaurants, tapas bars, rnMoorish architecture and shopping.
The municipal swimming pool is on the road through the pine forest approximately rna 5 min walk from the apartment. Open mid June to mid September, it has beautiful gardens and a good restaurant/bar with reasonable prices.
There are some stunning walks from the village into the nearby countryside rnand mountains. Horse-riding, mountain-biking, motorbike trails and organised rnhikes are all available locally. The nearest golf course is only 30 minutes away rn(Antequera). Lake Iznajar only 35 minutes away has a large sandy beach. The beaches, water parks and other attractions rnof the Costa del Sol are within an hour's drive. rnDuring the winter months, skiing and snowboarding are available at the Sierra rnNevada resort near Granada.
You may just want to take it easy and live the Spanish life for a weekrnor two. You can buy everything you need in the local shops and therernare plenty of bars and restaurants. There is a daily indoor marketrnselling fresh produce. Get there early for the best fish, shellfish,rnmeat, fruit and vegetables. Fresh bread is available from the localrnbakeries and is sold in all the food shops. Wine is cheap and of goodrnquality. Local olives are big and juicy. On Wednesday, there is arnstreet market selling mainly clothes, linens, fresh produce, kitchenrnequipment, plants and everything for the locals. (This is not therntourist Costa del Sol!)
