About Golf Rentals Dalyan
Dalyan is a lovely small riverside town with an enticing mix of breathtaking views, fantastic weather, warm friendly hospitality, plentiful restaurants, charming bars and places to shop. Dalyan is laid back, low key and lovely; a unique place with something for everyone ensuring you experience an unforgettable holiday .Dividing the sea from the delta is Iztuzu beach stretching for 5km east from the mouth of the estuary. This is a breathtaking stretch of beach which is thoroughly unspoilt by any modern developments. Throughout the ages the Loggerhead Turtle has laid her eggs here. This species, which is now protected, can happily continue to breed here as Dalyan and Iztuzu is set within a natural conservation area and is declared by the Turkish Tourist authorities as being an area of outstanding natural beauty and one of the safest for children.
Once an important trading port, the ancient city of Kaunos can be reached via a pictureqsue short boat ride from the Dalyan Harbour. The city was supposedly founded by Kaunos, the son of Miletus who was exiled after an incestuous relationship with his twin sister. The city was part of the Kingdom of Rhodes and later the Roman Empire although it lost its importance as the harbour filled with silt. Ancient ruins stand on the shores of beautiful Lake Suluklu and include an impressive open air theatre and remnants of the city walls
The mud baths of Dalyan have unsurprisingly have become one of the ares top attractions The sulphur-rich baths are said to alleviate the symptoms of various muscle and skin-related conditions, and it’s even been said that the waters will make you look younger ! At the lake you will find several natural spas. The hot springs with a temperature of 40º C were famous in Roman times for their healing properties. The numerous minerals were especially recognised as being beneficial for muscular problems. The town is situated at the mouth of the estuary between the Mediterranean Sea and the fresh water lake of Koygeciz in the very heart of the delta. This delta forms a unique system of small channels surrounded by reed beds. The public river taxi can take you from Dalyan meandering through the delta to the beach
