Vacation Rental Description

The Carib House is located in the south of Antigua, about a 20 minute drive from the international airport.  Situated in a community about 2 miles off the main road, this luxury rental villa with pool is in 2 acres of lush tropical gardens, and overlooks the Caribbean Sea and Falmouth Harbour.  On a  clear day you have views to Montserrat and even Guadeloupe.  It is only a 5-10 minute drive to many of the amenites of English Harbour, a beautiful historic part of Antigua made famous by Nelson's Dockyard, the only working Georgian dockyard

The Antigua holiday villa was completed in 2003, and has been built using many local materials.  This colonial style of house has been furnished for comfort with many places to linger with a book or cocktail in hand.  The living area is generous overlooking a terrace and pool area with gazebo surrounded by shady palm trees with enough sunbed space for the serious sun worshipper.  The gazebo is decked out with hammocks and large comfortable sofas, and is the place to catch the cooling breezes from across the harbour. 

This large spacious rental villa is on three levels.  The main house is on the same level as the swimming pool and has three bedrooms - a master with kingsize bed and ensuite, and two large bedrooms that can have either king size beds or twin accommodation which share a large family bathroom.  Above the swimming pool is a guest cottage with a Kingsize four poster wrought iron bed and large ensuite and wrap around verandah.  Down below the main house's veranda and on the same level as the car park is a garden apartment with a queen size bed that can be supplemented with additional beds, an ensuite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchenette.  This apartment also has its own outdoor living area and is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and glimpses of the sea below.

 

About Golf Rentals Antigua

The Carib House is located in Turtle Bay where the beach is located at the bottom of the garden, a mere 2 minute stroll from the terrace.  It is a natural reef beach with brilliant beach combing - your shell collection will benefit from the experience.  Snorkelling and surfing are two activities you could also try out here.   

Turtle Bay is in a small community of about 50 residences, mostly owner occupied.  There is one road in and out of the area, and is about a 20 minute walk to the main road.  Cherry Hill located en route has been the launching pad for our local paragliders.  There are banana plantations and local farm plots along the way back to civilisation.

Nearby attractions include Riding Stables and access to one of the best kept secrets in the world, Rendezvous Beach.  Within a short driving distance is Pigeon Beach, fabulous for those with young children, or anyone looking for a bar with awesome sunsets and the best margueritas in town.  This is within the same vicinity as  English Harbour, home of Nelson's Dockyard, Shirley's Heights and other famous landmarks of past British glory.  There are many bars and restaurants in the area and the owners can provide plenty of advice on the attractions offered within Antigua.

St Johns, the main town, is located about 30 minutes away and is a good haunt for those looking for duty-free shopping.  The rainforests on the way to Darkwood Beach (the next best secret) have a great zipline canopy tour and many beautiful walks, Stingray City is a marvelous adventure for swimming with the rays and turtles, and the many around the island tours are a great way to spend the day out.  Charter your own yacht, deep sea fishing, water sports at Dickensons Bay. Scuba diving - the list goes on.
