Nearby you can enjoy all kinds of sports, also watersports (Bilancino lake) or cultivate your interest in art and culture, not far from Scarperia e Vicchio, the native country of Giotto, Cimabue and Beato Angelico, 27 kms to Florence.

Tuscany, in the heart of Mugello, home of the Medici, distinguished writers and painters such as Giotto, Cimabue and Fra Angelico, is the house of Ripafratta, a few yards from the villa where in 1503 Giovanni della Casa was born, Secretary of State Vatican with Pope Paul IV and author of "GALATEO", the famous Treaty "morals" or good manners. The GALATEO "translated into many languages, became the manual of conduct of women at court during the Kingdom of Elizabeth I of England.

The house of Ripafratta is located in Tuscany just 27 kms from Florence, 3 from Borgo San Lorenzo (Medici city with shops, restaurants and services of all kinds), 5 km. By Scarperia (track and golf course). The A1 motorway exit Barberino is just 14 km. Since January'99 was reactivated rail connecting Faentina Borgo San Lorenzo in Florence in 25 minutes.
