On the corner of the Piazza SS Annunziata, you'll find the busiest museum in Florence, Galleria dell’ Accademia. One of the reasons is that it's home to Michelangelo’s magnificent nude, David. Carved from a single massive lump of marble in 1504.

Close by is Piazza San Marco which is the Museo di San Marco which occupies the ex-convent of San Marco.
