Do you like to experience a completely different Egypt? Here is your chance! No mass tourist resort, but living with the local Nubian population (in pharaonic history "the black pharaohs"), who will welcome you as one of them, not as a tourist. This concept is highly appreciated by our guests. They learn about the Nubian culture and traditions and find back what is lost in the modern European life style: a relaxed atmosphere and a warm social community life. And the local ferry takes you to Aswan centre in 15 minutes, where you might shop, relax in one of the hotel swimming pools etc. The Nubians are hospitable and modest. You’ll really feel home in this relaxed African atmosphere. Bet el Kerem is a large modern house with two floors; six sleeping rooms. It's suitable for group accommodation, individual tourists and families. The house is clean, completely furnished, with bathrooms, toilets, kitchen, washing machine, televivion, dvd-player etc.

The location is a perfect start for trips: Nearby you’ll enjoy the beautiful nature of the desert, the Nile River, botanical gardens, pharaonic temples etc. In the centre of Aswan you’ll feel the typical mix of the Arabic and African cultures, with makes Aswan a very interesting place to stay.

In and around Aswan you’ll find a lot of (historical) sights:
* pharaonic tombs and temples
- The “Tombs of the Nobles”,
- the Isis temple on Philae Island,
* The Kalabsha temple past Lake Nasser
* Other Nubian monuments around Lake Nasser
* the “unfinished obelisk"
* St. Simeon monastery from the 6th century
* The Nubian museum

* A boat trip on the river Nile is recommended,
* as well as a camel trip in the Nubian desert.
* A day trip to the world famous temple of Ramses in Abu Simbel.
* And it’s possible and not expensive to use the swimming pools of most of the hotels in Aswan.
