Boasting one of the most prestigious locations of Scotland's Capital, the George is situated in the heart of Edinburgh, taking prime position on the elegant George Street. This historic building with its distinctive façade was designed over two hundred years ago and although it is currently undergoing extensive refurbishment, many of the original architectural details have been carefully retained. The property is within easy reach of the majority of Edinburgh's most popular attractions including the famous Castle, Princes Street Gardens and Holyrood Palace. A little further a field is Edinburgh Zoo and Leith Port which is now home to the Royal Yacht Britannia. All 195 of the hotel's bedrooms, many with views of Edinburgh Castle or the Firth of Forth, have been tastefully furnished to a superior standard so that comfort is guaranteed. The property features modern-day facilities for conferences, banqueting and special events, with function rooms accommodating between 2 and 200 people including the Adam Suite, designed by Robert Adam in the eighteenth century and restored to it's former glory in 1998, which can seat 200 delegates theatre style or 150 people for dinner. Further amenities include the Carvers restaurant and a lounge bar.
