Las Vegas Casinos

The center of gambling in the United States, Las Vegas is marketed as “The Entertainment Capital of the World” and is famous for its massive, lavish casino resorts, which are the major attractions of the city. The most famous casinos line Las Vegas Boulevard South, also known as the “Las Vegas Strip”. There are many casinos in the city's downtown area as well, which was the original focal point of the city's gaming industry in its early days.

Here are some of the city’s most popular casinos:

  • Bellagio Hotel and Casino: Bellagio is a hotel and casino located on the Las Vegas. It was built on the site of demolished Dunes hotel and casino. Inspired by the Lake Como resort of Bellagio in Italy, Bellagio is famed for its elegance. One of its most notable features is an eight-acre (32,000 m²) artificial lake between the building and the Strip, which houses the Fountains of Bellagio, a major free attraction which provides a romantic ambiance for couples walking along the strip.

  • The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino: The Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino is located off the Las Vegas Strip in Clark County. It is better known as The Rio and is owned and operated by Harrah's Entertainment. The Rio was the first all suite casino in the Las Vegas area.

  • Circus Circus: Circus Circus Las Vegas is a circus-themed 3,774 room hotel and 101,000 square foot (9,392 m²) casino located on the famed Las Vegas Strip. Circus Circus features free circus acts on a regular basis throughout the day. Circus Circus has the only RV park on the Strip providing additional accommodations in the 399 space park. Circus Circus Las Vegas is the largest permanent big top in the world

  • The Golden Nugget: The Golden Nugget Las Vegas is a casino-hotel located on the Fremont Street Experience. It is the largest casino in the downtown area, with a total of 1,907 rooms. It has also maintained AAA's four diamond rating for the past twenty-nine years.

  • The Mirage: The Mirage is a 3,044 room hotel and casino resort located on the Las Vegas Strip. The gold exterior color is from the gold used in the windows. It is widely considered to be the father of today's Las Vegas.

ART: A Trip to Las Vegas

Why would anyone visit Las Vegas? For more reasons than you could think of or even imagine. The fastest growing city in the US, three hundred days of sunshine, world class golf courses and other sports facilities, excellent museums including a Guggenheim and oh - of course, I almost forgot – the Las Vegas Strip! The most impulsive reason to visit Las Vegas is to get married at one of its innumerable chapels!

South Nevada is booming and more people than ever before are relocating to the Las Vegas area. This is no desert but a thriving community, surrounded by scenic mountains. It has grown into a retirement destination that rivals Florida, with favorable taxes and no hurricanes! It is not just retirees or second home investors but people seeking to live in a place with good weather, reasonable cost of living and a good education system. The golf is a bonus!

Las Vegas Strip and off strip areas known as downtown are witnessing a stunning revival. Beautiful master planned communities, many with their own casinos and entertainment have developed around the city and luxurious mile-high condos and condo-hotels dot the Strip. The luxurious life style offered at any of the Las Vegas villas is to be seen to be believed. Getting around is not a hassle either. The city has great public transport with the monorail and two bus systems that get you to any part of the city quickly and efficiently.

No other city in the world can rival the glitter of the neon lit Las Vegas Strip with its larger than life casinos and entertainment centers. Las Vegas is like some TV reality show. There’s no need travel around the world – every famous landmark has been replicated here, probably with greater detail than the original. From slot machines to roulette you can take your pick for a little flutter or a night of gambling. If Lady Luck favors you, they throw in a luxury suite for a night or more!

There are several other attractions in Vegas and even kids can have fun at the various theme parks, rides and museums. It perhaps has more variety for entertainment than any other place in the world, though most people cannot imagine anything else here other than casinos.

One cannot make a trip to Vegas and not watch any of the entertainment. Go past the famous clubs and you will see the names of top performers blinking in neon signs. The greatest entertainers of the world have performed in Las Vegas and do not be surprised if you spot an Elvis or two!
