Travel news Updates

Just to update you on a few travel matters.

Do not forget that if you book flights with your credit card, you are more likely to be protected if an airine went out of business. If you are living in the UK for example, Section 75 in the consumer protection charter means that for fees over £100, the credit card takes some of the Easyjet and budget flightsliability. Try and pay for travel services over £100 on our credit card if you can (although make sure you have a way to pay off the credit card).

Weather in some Northern European countries and across parts of the United States has been quite poor lately, with storms and hurricanes and a shortage of sunshine. In Europe, cities such as Barcelona are perfect at this time of year, with the city less crowded than in the peak of summer and with temperatures around 28 celcuis. In the States cities such as Virginia Beach can still be very pleasant and relaxed at this time of year.

If you haven't already seen the site, moneysavingexpert.com is a great resources for budget a flights. You can check flights from £1 and up, including to cities such as Rome, Barcelona and Venice.

On the holiday rentals front, Holiay Velvet now offer last minute deals and some offers recently have inclued for Rome accommodation rentals, Barcelona luxury apartments and Venice Rialto apartments.

3 Useful Sites for airline flights

With the Christmas Holidays over and with those of us in the Northern hemisphere now in the heart of winter time, many of us our starting to think about and plan our next big vacation, whether it be during Easter or in the Spring or summer. To help you out, I have detailed below five of my favourite travel sites, and ones I use regularly when looking for travel ideas. If you have any sites you yourself like, feel free to send blog comments with your favourites!
Cheap flights
SkyScanner - This site crawls the majority of the budget airlines and allows you to view prices across a number of days so that you can clearly and easily see a comparision of different prices. This is a very handy site.

Cheapflights.co.uk - This site is similar to SkyScanner in that it details a selection of airline flights. This is different though in that it includes the major airlines such as British Airways and Air France, rather than focusing on budget flights. This site is regularly updated and a very handy site.

OpenJet - This is another handy price flight comparision site which you may want to check after checking SkyScanner and Cheapflights.co.uk, just to ensure you have found the best price.

For holiday apartments and accommodation worldwide try Holiday Velvet.
