Acapulco - La Quebrada - Cliff Divers

That was maybe the most impressing and oppressing at the same time I have ever seen. La Quebrada is perhaps Acapulco's most iconic attraction, over the years it became maybe the most important landmark. We saw the young men meditating and concentrating on the top of the 45 meter high rock and we wee pretty sure that this day somebody is going to die.

Every day at 1:00 p.m. they jump from La Quebrada's jagged cliffs. The timing is the most difficult but also most important thing they have to take care of. If they fail the incoming wave they are almost ever ought to die by falling in the shallows.

Over generations, those brave men are hurling themselves off the majestic cliffs jumping into the Pacific Ocean. They dive into a very narrow bay of about 5 meter, where huge waves enter and crash over the rocks. And as we spoke with some natives they told us that if they do not execute their timing perfectly.
