Venice Carnival

The next Venice Carnival will be held January 25, 2008 to Tuesday, February 05, 2008 and is the most well known festival as well as being one of the oldest in the world. People wearing costumes and masks have been partying since the 15th century, but the tradition can be traced back to the beginning of the 14th Century. Now, people from all around the world to stay in Venice for one week's worth of festivities. All Venice hotels and apartments will be completely booked with holiday and vacationers looking for the best parties to be had.

The Venice Carnival is a wonderful spectacle of costumes, masks, fireworks, bonfires and some of the grandest balls in Italy. The tradition of the masks is what makes the Venice Carnival unique. The wearing of masks allows people from all social levels to come together and enjoy themselves.

The most famous of all the balls is the Doges Ball: This is one of the few balls that ios open to the public and is held annually in the 15th Century Palazzo Pisani Moretta on the Grand Canal.
