Taormina, on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Sicily, every summer hosts the Taormina Film Festival. The festival, which this year will take place from the 16th until the 22nd of June, has always featured famous guests such as Tom Cruise, Elizabeth Taylor, Quentin Tarantino and others.

The Taormina Film Festival is a competitive film festival, that screens film previews, documentaries, independent features and tributes to filmmakers of the past. The festival has a section dedicated to Sicilian movies, as well as a section for Mediterranean cinematography that this year focuses on Egyptian cinema and its emerging talents.

Taormina film festival is held in the Greek Theatre of Taormina, which, being located on top of a hill, provides a stunning view of the Mediterranean sea and the Etna in the background.
