Amsterdam Spotlight

Amsterdam is a very diverse and lively city. For people who are looking for a museum you can go to the Anna Frank House, the National museum or the van Gogh museum. But if you are more interested in bars and decent places to eat there are many squares including the Leidse square, the Rembrandt square and the Museum square. The last one is also used for festivals and demonstrations. It’s also possible to take canal boat tours which show you the city Amsterdam from the water. These tours leave from directly in front of the Central Station and gives you a completely different view of the city with it’s history.

One of the biggest events in Amsterdam is Queens day held in the entire city. There are big artists coming and performing for free, the complete centre is closed for cars and trams. Furthermore there are major stages at the Rembrandt square and the Museum square and al sorts of activities. Queens day is every year on the 30th April (Or 29th April if 30th April is a Sunday). Another major event is the dance event Sensation, which is held once a year in the Amsterdam ArenA, the football stadium. There are international artist performing for 35000 people and the visitors are all dressed in white, for the white edition and black for the black edition.

Amsterdam Transportation - The best way to travel in Amsterdam is the metro or the tram. For tourist there is a special I Amsterdam Card.
