Bang Tao Beach, Phuket (Part 1)

Arriving at Bang Tao Beach in Phuket, you'll be greeted by a fabulously large open bay and it's one of Phuket's longest beaches. Located north of Patong, Bang Tao Beach has been developed into a luxury resort where you'll find the island best hotels including the Banyan Tree Phuket, Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, Laguna Beach Resort, Allamanda Laguna Phuket and Laguna Holiday Club Phuket Resort.

This pretty much makes up the Laguna complex which is located at the northern end of the beach. Now a massive five-hotel development with golf course, this is a fantastic place to experience Thailand's number one tourist destination. If you haven't got the deep pockets or you'd prefer to stay in a villa or apartment, there is plenty of Phuket accommodation available outside Laguna at the bay's south end.

In the dry season, the swimming is excellent and at the bay's north end is a smaller bay, almost completely enclosed. There are plenty of places to eat, tour companies, and other tourist facilities available either at Laguna or in the nearby town of Choeng Thale. The shopping is excellent as are the restaurants and bars located near to the entrance to Laguna Phuket.
