ART: Cliff Divers in Acapulco

Perhaps the most popular of all the destinations in Mexico is Acapulco.

Not only is the climate, beautiful coastline, warm people and great food a major incentive to go to Acapulco, one of the most interesting sights to see is the cliff divers. These are brave local men that earn their living by cliff diving. These clavadistas or cliff divers’ swan dive off a cliff called La Quedabra which is a 130 feet drop into 12 feet of rough surf. The divers are featured in shows where the price is from anywhere between 20-50 pesos. This amazing sight is quite breath taking and it is a fact that there have been no recorded deaths so far.

Thinking about going diving in Acapulco, apart from needing to know where the nearest hospital is, you might also like to stay in one of our wonderful villas in Mexico:

»Las Promesas - Sleeps 8 people
»Casa Las Ardillas - Sleeps 24 people
