The stay in this beautiful apartment was everything we hoped for! clean, practical, spacious and set in a brilliant location. close enough to the action, to walk everywhere, and quiet enough to enjoy our own space and rest from the buzz.We loved it, and will be back!!!Thank you:-)

The location was ace - the Jewish Ghetto is a welcome reprieve from the crowds of the more tourist areas and yet just as interesting and pretty - plus you can walk pretty much anywhere you want within 10-20 minutes. The flat is large with great views from the roof terrace. It was clean and comfortable enough and equipped with most things you could need (though the design is a little quirky!). The only caution I would say is that it is not really suitable for small children, with lots of mezzanine levels that they could easily fall off (And the roof terrace is totally out of bounds for anyone under five, I would say). Bigger kids will enjoy the bizarre layout - it's the kind of place they can explore and get a bit lost in.All in all I felt it was good value for money and you got a lot of space and comfort compared with many Venetian accommodations.

Venice Jewel was not exactly cheap but truly was a jewel. Located on the Piazza of the Jewish Ghetto it is in relatively peaceful corner of Venice and that alone made it worth every Euro we paid for it… if only because it provided a quiet place to retreat from the insane crush of people in the more infested sestiere. The Ghetto itself is pleasant in the extreme. It is a large and open space with big shady trees (about as common in Venice as cars), no tourists, and is home to a restaurant with excellent Italian food with plenty of outdoor tables. On the other hand… when the desire to join the tourist melee overcame us the Piazza San Marco cost us no more than a twenty minute walk… a sometime struggle reminiscent of rush hour on the Tokyo subway, but always interesting adventure that we found to be the most memorable part of our visit to this fantastic city. We never twice took the same route anywhere and quickly began to feel like savvy insiders as a result. All in all… a perfect location right around the corner from grocery stores, internet access, fruit wagons, and tons of knock-off purses at bargain basement prices! The apartment itself was also near perfect with only one arguable shortcoming… no air conditioning. The Jewel, however, benefits from an uncommonly good convection breeze when the windows and the dormer door to the veranda are open. It was clean, comfortable, had good water in two showers, and plenty of pots, pans and dishes. The veranda was so high I could have BASE jumped off of it… I know I almost fell off simply because of the view! My only complaint… the espresso maker could have been a bit bigger. As for Holiday Velvet, I found them to be completely professional. They were fast and friendly by e-mail and phone, reliable and punctual at the meeting in Venice, and left me with the impression that I would not ignore me if things unraveled at the apartment. Final analysis: next time I go to Venice I know who I’ll call and where I will want to stay.

Staying in this apartment was one of the highlights of our trip. It's close to the train terminal and situated on a very interesting square that is a little bit out of the way but still close to shops. The apartment suited us well and the kids loved it. The rooftop terrace was a bit run down, but was our favourite place to relax, have a few drinks and watch the action in the square . This apartment is on the top floor so there are a number of stairs to negotiate to get luggage and food etc up there.

We had a fantastic holiday. The apartment is unique, in a peaceful and interesting area of Venice. We loved the roof terrace but it would have been better if there had been enough chairs for all of us to sit on (only 3 were not broken) and a parasol or some other form of shade. The apartment was very well equiped and comfortable with some really nice features. It is nice to stay somewhere that feels like it is a home but there is a fine line between it feeling homely and that the owners have just left in a hurry. Unfortunately it felt a little like the latter at points e.g. the bathroom shelves were already full of toiletries, cupboards full of shoes etc. It would have been even better if some of these things had been put away. Although the apartment was generally clean the bookshelves/tops of cupboards etc were very dusty. Overall I would highly recommend this apartment. It could be even better with just a few simple changes.

We thought the location was fantastic. The real bonus was the tradititional roof terrace with views over the city and lagoon. The position overlooking the square on one side and canal on the other made it a great spot for watching daily life. Wonderful quiet corner of Venice. The appartment was great - quirky, everything that we needed was there. Generally good value and we would recoment it to friends and family.

The apartment was even more lovely than we had hoped. The views from every window were marvelous. The kitchen was very well equipped and a pleasure in which to cook. The bedrooms were all good sized with very comfortable beds. Everything was clean and welcoming. The location is fabulous-- in quiet area where you are not overwhelmed by the crawling of tourists. Overall, I'd highly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time in Venice. The apartment certainly was a jewel. Very well designed in 80s post-modern style with amazing use of space and light. The roof terrace was even better than imagined with amazing views to the Dolomites, the Campanile and oblique views of canals. Tourist-free area also.. Would love to return.

excellent location in Cannaregio area, close to many restaurants and a supermarket (ask for Billa supermercato), very clean, stunning architecture and interior design (just a little too dark colours), wonderful terrace on the roof, good kitchen equipment except tea pot, dishwasher out of order during our stay. Still an appartment I can recommend without hesitation!
