Review:
We stayed at Craigwell Cottage for seven nights in September. As we travel with our two year son we were looking for a well located, self-catering apartment, and we chose that one especially because it also offered a parking site -which is very valuable in Edinburgh! The apartment has an unbeatable location: very close to the Royal Mile but without the noise and traffic, 5 minutes away from Waverley Station and surrounded by small cafés and shops. We tried the Clarinda's Tea Room that the owners recommended -delicious homemade scones and pies! You can go everywhere walking but the bus stops and the train station are very near. To get to the Royal Mile took us less than two minutes; Holyrood is even closer and Princes Street is just around eight minutes away (walking!) The cottage is part of an old brewery, but is set apart from the rest of the building. The parking is very close to the front door of the cottage and it really was very useful as parking in Edinburgh is a nightmare. On the ground floor there are two cosy bedrooms with built-in cupboards, a small cupboard for the iron board and the vacuum cleaner (etc) and a bathroom. Everything is new, extremely clean and practical. The first floor has the kitchen and the living room. The kitchen is wonderful and had everything we needed: toaster, microwave, oven (wich we were the first to use), dryer and so on. The living room was cosy and warm, with a dining table, two sofas and coffee tables. The owners were kind enough to leave us a cot and a high chair for our kid. We also had two portfolios with all the information of the area and the facilities of the cottage, and many books on Scotland, Edinburgh and Leith. What can we add? Great value for money in a great location! We would use this place again without any doubt!
