- Our family travel agent of 20 years highly recommended this property to us for our family reunion. We stayed at Fort Recovery in October, '07 for 2 weeks. We had 25 family members staying at this hotel and we all thoroughly enjoyed our villas. The rooms were spacious, very clean and beautiful. You are literally right at the water's edge and the views are magnificent, BEAUTIFUL SUNSETS!! We had a catered banquet in the restaurant and everything went very smooth. The food was great, professional presentation, we had a wide mix of Caribbean foods such as jerk chicken, rotis and also the option of more continental things such as steak, stuffed chicken, and a mix of side dishes, desserts and appetizers. They made the whole reunion party experience for us very intimate and we even had a local Saxophone player who was great! The beach is nice, a little rocky but we expected that, the receptionist told us they are very eco friendly and try and preserve the natural reef that is there. The grounds are very well kept, beautiful foliage, we saw the groundskeepers raking and tending to the plants everyday. Housekeeping was great, do talk to them, they will help you with just about anything you ask and are extremely friendly!!! I will recommend this hotel to families and couples as I felt the ambiance was both intimate and exciting at the same time, definitely not your average resort.
