- My wife Sharon and I thorougly enjoyed our stay in Rome and the apartment. The unit was fully stocked in the kitchen and the owners provided us with complementary water, coffee, tea and condiments for cooking. It was close to supermarkets and specialty stores, and the area with 125 restaurants is unsurpassed for varied dining experiences. The unit with an enclosed court yard is a bit dark, but as a result is very quiet--unbelievable in our view from the bustle of Rome. The Trastevere is a wonderful area and close to many must visit sites including the Colosseum, Forum, Piazza Fiori, and Navona Piazza. The entire central city is within walking distance albeit some distance for some. Bus and tram service is fully adequate for those who do not want to exercise off some of the food they will inevitably consume. This area is one of few where automobiles can find parking and most streets are accessible. An area internet facility was very reasonable and phone service to the US. for .20 Eur a minute.The contacts husband, Mr Giulia Cao, spoke great English and was most helpful in arranging reliable limo service to the airport which gave myself and wife peace of mind since we returned on different dates. We would highly recommend Casa Mari for folks who want the flexibility of cooking and eating out. We think the Trastevere area is great, and we were happy we had not selected accommodation much nearer the major tourist sites.
