Re: Giovanni Terrace Apartment. This apartment was our home in Rome for 5 nights We found it to be quiet, close to bus transportation and a 10 minute walk to the Metro, with a supermarket conveniently located just down the street. We would certainly recommend this to others but feel some ajustments need to be made first. The apartment appears to not to be used very often and although the place looked neat and tidy parts of the apartment were covered in dust, the chopping block was moldy (there was a small leak from the hot water heater which I think contributed to this), a cigarette butt was in the toilet. We also had problems with the hot water. We were not sure if it was connected to a timer, or whether it was metered to only allow a certain amount at any one time, but one morning there was only enough hot water for one of us to have a shower, other times there was no hot water at all. We did not address these concerns with the owner as she spoke no English, and the person who met us spoke very little. On arrival we had barely made it to the apartment before the cash was demanded. We certainly understand them wanting to be assured of payment, but it could have been handled a little more diplomatically. Likewise taking the time to orient us to the apartment would have been helpful, instead of us having to ask the person to show us how things operated. We suspect that the renting of the apartment maybe a new concept for the owners and that a little more attention to detail would make this place a good choice for others. Liza Hadfield
